VIDEO - Google pushes map technology

A press released on Google's official blog this morning described strategies the map team will be pursuing going forward to further improve their product. They are focusing largely on three areas: comprehensiveness, accuracy, and usability. My favorite innovation is the Google Maps Trekker -- all the imaging technology of street-view car, but in an awesome-looking backpack. The video is a demonstration of the work Google's been doing in the 3D mapping sphere, no doubt hoping to keep ahead of competitor Apple, now that the iPhone maker will be pushing its own mapping software.
