VIDEO: CERN presents its futuristic physics experiments
The European Organization for Nuclear Research, CERN, and its Large Hadron Collider (LHC) have been the nexus of physics collider experiments for many years. Recently, CERNTV's Youtube channel released a video detailing their latest innovations, including increased speed, experiments with lead, and the ALICE collaboration. ALICE uses a heavy-ion detector to exploit the unique physics potential of nucleus-nucleus interactions. By doing so, researchers can study matter interactions at extreme energy densities. Discoveries in this realm of physics could lead to breakthroughs in confinement and chiral-symmetry restoration.
