Spray increases plants' resistance to cold

A new topical spray increases plants’ resistance to cold temperatures. In lab tests, sprayed foliage withstood temperatures 2.2 to 9.4° Fahrenheit lower than usual. Flowers and fruit also survived after being exposed to lower temperatures. According to the researchers, this is roughly the equivalent of moving a plant about 200 miles closer to the equator. Composed of ingredients that are non-toxic to plants, humans, and other animals, the patent-pending formulation will be commercialized under the trade name FreezePruf.
