Red Hat Files Amicus Brief with SCOTUS

Red Hat, Inc. (RHT), the world's leading provider of open source solutions, has filed an amicus brief with the US Supreme Court in the Alice Corp. v. CLS Bank case. The brief is asking that the Supreme Court find its existing cases prohibiting the patenting of abstract ideas apply to software patents. Oral arguments are set to begin March 31st in what could turn out to be a landmark IP case.
