Raytheon awarded $138.7 million contract for Patriot engineering services

Raytheon Company received a $138.7 million contract to provide engineering services for the Patriot Air and Missile Defense System. This is the third of four annual options to the base contract awarded in 2009, which brings the total amount to date to $803 million. These continued improvements enhance the capability of Patriot to face evolving threats. Issued by the US Army Aviation and Missile Command, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., the contract calls for Raytheon to continue to deliver systems analysis, software and hardware engineering, testing and logistics support. Patriot is an air and missile defense system, protecting against a full range of advanced threats, including aircraft, tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles. Raytheon is the prime contractor for both domestic and international Patriot Air and Missile Defense Systems and system integrator for Patriot Advanced Capability-3 missiles.
