New Boston Scientific catheter marketed in Europe
Boston Scientific Corporation has begun marketing a remote-controlled catheter system, called the CRI Amigo™ system, designed to treat cardiac arrhythmias during medical procedures. The system increases comfort and reduce exposure to radiation, making it an ideal tool for physicians. It is also designed to accommodate other catheters present in the lab; it connects to the tip and can be remotely controlled from that point on. This system is an ideal replacement for anti-arrhythmic drugs for patients who have difficulty enduring the side effects. The system will be marketed in mainly European countries, including France, Germany, Luxembourg, and Spain. The United States is not yet available for market.
