Industry Pushes for Change

Several major companies, including Google, Wal-Mart, and Dell, have been throwing their support behind bills that would protect new products against "extortive demands" on patents. In a letter to both houses of congress a total of 44 companies urged support for legislation that would broaden the power of the USPTO with respect to reviewing and invalidating questionable patents.
