First on-premise private cloud: CSC BizCloud

Today, CSC announced the availability of its CSC BizCloud, the first on-premise private cloud billed as a service and ready for workloads in 10 weeks, in Canada. BizCloud, a VMware vCloud Datacenter Service, combines the privacy, security and control of a private cloud with the agility, convenience and commercial model of a public cloud. It allegedly eliminates lengthy capital acquisition cycles by accelerating the business and government agencies’ adoption of a private cloud. Private clouds acquire and integrate multiple components, while BizCloud fully integrates VCE Vblock. BizCloud also comes with a service catalog, chargeback methodology and automation to simplify management and orchestration. It also gives users all the components needed for a private cloud that is preconfigured, integrated and tested, on their premises and behind their firewall.
