Android pharmacist fills your prescriptions

CVS Caremark is making a trip to the pharmacist easier with the introduction of the Caremark.com Android app. The free app permits access to the Drug Information Database where users can research drug alternatives, see images of the drug, and learn of its side effects among other things.

The  also allows CVS Caremark plan members to securely manage their prescriptions online. Users with Android 2.1 OS and higher phones will be able to use the app which is similar to the Caremark.com iPhone application that has been available since July of 2010.

"At CVS Caremark we continue to find ways to engage and communicate with our members using new technologies to manage their prescriptions and keep them connected," said Tim Kurth, vice president, eBusiness at CVS Caremark. "The availability of an Android app enables us to provide our plan members with convenient access to their Caremark.com accounts through their preferred mobile devices."

Some of the prescription information that CVS Caremark PBM members can access while securely logged into their Caremark.com account via Android are their order statuses, prescription history, easy mail service prescription refills, new requests, coverage plans, and costs. They can also locate network pharmacy locations if they want human interaction.
