Does the decoder have to be a video / image / audio decoder? Or is an address decoder acceptable?

Hi Naomi. Technically, no, it would not be required to be a video/image/audio decoder. However, while I can imagine an address decoder would be necessary for real time operations (e.g. pointers), our understanding is that the decoder needs memory bandwidth and space for real time operations. So to use the document, you would need to prove that the address decoder has the same limitations (needing large amounts of bandwidth and space) in addition to being crucial for real time operation. Let me know if that answers your question and please feel to continue asking if more should pop up!

Hi Andy. Thanks! Yes, that answers my question. I'm still doing more searches. I'll ask again if something comes up.
