Every year thousands of people have cardiac catheterizations, or angioplasties -- when a doctor threads a catheter to the heart to look for blockages and other issues in blood vessels. For years, doctors have used the artery near the groin as an access point for this procedure. But now, some are using the artery in the wrist because studies have shown that it may be safer and easier on patients.
