Praxair acquisition of Welders Industrial Supply expands industrial gases operations

Praxair, a major supplier of technology and products related to aerospace, chemicals, energy, metals and other industries, has expanded its reach. Praxair Distribution, Inc., a subsidiary of Praxair, completed its acquisition of Welders Industrial Supply, LLC (WIS), a gas distributorship that operates out of a cylinder filing plant facility in Pasadena, Texas.  WIS distributes industrial and specialty gases as well as welding equipment, supplies and services. The expansion is expected to result in a broader array of Praxair products. Earlier in 2011, Praxair Distribution had acquired Texas Welders Supply Company and National Ally, both also based in Texas.
