Northrop Grumman provides James Webb Space Telescope flight software to NASA

Yesterday, Northrop Grumman Corporation delivered its innovative flight software to NASA that will enable the James Webb Space Telescope to communicate with the station on Earth, even if it is over a million miles out in space.  The engineers from Northrop Grumman verified that the software meets the requirements of the mission communication once launched.  The James Webb Space Telescope is the most powerful ever build, it will potentially provide images of the first galaxies ever formed and study planets around distant stars. The program has completed vital design reviews and formal verification testing. More design reviews are scheduled to take place in January, April, and June of 2012.
