Largest, highest powered spacecraft test capability to date

Science Applications International Corporation has completed the designs and construction services that will provide NASA with a new vibro-acoustic test capability (VTC); this is the largest and highest powered acoustic spacecraft test capability to date. The VTC includes a mechanical vibration facility and a reverberant acoustic test facility, supported by an integrated high-speed data acquisition system, common infrastructure systems, and facility control system. The comprehensive services for NASA facilitate ongoing developments and will support future research and testing for emerging systems to support missions in the solar system. The test facility consists of several features that will help simulate space scenarios for exploration vehicles, including NASA’s Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle. Science Applications International Corporation has received recognition from NASA for contributions made to the project.
