Gevo in patent war with Butamax - Denver Business Journal

A battle over patents between Colorado biofuel company Gevo Inc. and Butamax Advanced Biofuels LLC is heating up. Douglas County-based Gevo (Nasdaq: GEVO) said Thursday it is asking the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to invalidate Butamax's patent 7,851,188 and will soon file a request that it invalidate Butamax's patent 7,993,889. The move comes after Butamax sued Gevo in federal court, alleging infringement of the two patents.
