eBay Plans 2015 PayPal Spinoff

In an interview with the New York Times, eBay CEO John Donahoe said that the company will follow the advice of activist investor Carl Ichan and spin off PayPal late next year. The split will separate the payment business, which contributes over 40% to eBay's revenue, from its marketplaces and enterprise businesses.
