Bain Capital investment firm is to acquire Physio-control from Medtronic

Bain Capitol announced today that they have reached an agreement to acquire Physio-Control from Medtronic. The deal will be carried out between Bain Capitol and Medtronic with a cash transaction valued at around $487 million dollars via acquisition of stock and other valuable entities. Physio-Control, a company with approximately 1,000 employees, is a global leader in providing emergency medical response technology and services like defibrillators, chest compression systems, and data management tools. The acquisition is expected to be completed within the first quarter of the 2012 calendar. A portion of the money Medtronic receives is expected to be used to offset any potential financial trouble it may receive due to the transaction.
