Air Products launches cylinder barrier technology to drive hygiene and safety standards in food packaging

Air Products is launching an innovative gas cylinder with built-in barrier technology to drive hygiene and safety standards in the food packaging industry. Developed specifically for use in Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) applications, the Freshline® Plus cylinder has an antimicrobial coating, which is designed to minimize the risk of contamination in food processing areas. This hi-tech coating provides built-in protection inhibiting the growth of microbes, bacteria and mold on the cylinder's surface. The cylinder benefits from improved corrosion resistance and is also fitted with a unique 0.2 micron bacterial filter and residual pressure valve for extra protection and safety. These features act as a barrier, protecting the gas product from external contaminants.
