NVIDIA releases lateset GPU

With a return to its "Kepler" graphical processing unit (GPU) architechture, the GeForce GTX 670 is NVIDIA's latest processor offering. The graphics card is aimed at high-performance gaming applications, and is one of a few GPUs being released on a 28nm architecture. Though NVIDIA recently expressed displeasure over the foundry who was set to manufacture the chip. The Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) reportedly gave NVIDIA manufacturing priority over several other of its customers on this newer process, however, allowing the new GeForce chips to be released on the anticipated May/June schedule. "It outpaces the closest competitive product in gaming performance by upwards of 45 percent, while consuming approximately 18 percent less power," NVIDIA claimed in a press release. The next closest competitor to NVIDIA's new card is the AMD Radeon HD 7970, also on 28nm architecture, released in late 2011.
